Installing and Configuring the Oracle Client

From Start | All Programs | Class Data Folders | Computer Science\Bacon\CS360\Oracle

            In the subfolder Oracle 10g Client Size:  470 MB (493,535,075 bytes), double-click setup.exe (9/7/2005)

It takes a while for the Oracle Universal Installer to start, be patient (2-3 minutes)

Click on Installed Products and verify there are no products installed.

In the same dialog box, click the Environments tab to verify there are no Oracle Homes.

Close

Specify Inventory Directory

D:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory (or wherever directory you like)

Select Installation Type

Choose Administrator

Specify Home Details

Name:  OraClient10g_home1

If it defaults to some other home, say home2, you must remove the existing installation first.

Path:     D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1 (or wherever you like)
